The Beowulf legend has an Anglo origin and tells the story on a Nordic hero that become famous for destroy Grendel. It starts in Heorot palace in the Selandia Island, Denmark. This site was used for parties at nights,

Because the noise, the fearsome Grendel, a monster who lives near them, wake up and attack the king and his warriors killing many of them every time that this happens. The grateful king gift to Beowulf a necklace and celebrated a party for him. While this happens, the Grendel’s protector angry with the results of the fight came to get revenge. She kills Ésker, one of the kingdom’s man and run out with his protege’s arm. Beowulf follow her with some warriors and after swim for a day in a lake founds the woman. In the fight the hero was hurted, but he get to cut the head of his opponent with a sword.

In that way came the big victory of Beowulf and the kingdom get its tranquility, and went back to his home with a lot of wealth that were gifted.
